חשבונאות

המחקר בתחום החשבונאות באוניברסיטת תל אביב מתמקד בקשר שבין מידע פיננסי לשווי ניירות ערך בשוקי ההון ובקשר שבין מידע פיננסי לקבלת החלטות תפעוליות של הפירמה. חלק נכבד מהמחקרים משתמש בשיטות מחקר אמפיריות, בעיקר ניתוח אקונומטרי של הקשרים בין נתונים פיננסיים ונתונים משוק ההון. חלק אחר מתמקד בניתוח תיאורטי מתמטי של סוגיות כלכליות הקשורות לזרימת המידע בשוקי ההון. ההתמקדות בקשר שבין מידע פיננסי לנעשה בשוקי ההון ובתוך הפירמה הוא המייחד את המחקר בחשבונאות ביחס למחקר בכלכלה ובמימון.

קיימים מספר רבדים שונים של מחקר בתחום החשבונאות באוניברסיטת תל אביב. רובד אחד בוחן את ההשפעה על מחירי מניות של פרסום מידע פיננסי על ידי החברות. דוגמה למחקר כזה הוא ניתוח ההשפעה של גילוי בדבר התקפות סייבר על מחירי המניות של החברות המותקפות. מחקר אחר מנסה למדוד את רמת הדיוק של המידע הכלול במחירי ניירות ערך. החוקרים בונים מדד לדיוק מחירי המניות בבורסה שבעזרתו הם בודקים האם מידע מדויק יותר גורם לירידה במחיר ההון של החברה. בנוסף, החוקרים בודקים האם דיוק מחירי המניות מושפע באופן שונה ממידע חיובי ומידע שלילי.

 

רובד זה כולל גם מחקרים תיאורטיים-מתמטיים העוסקים באופן בו מידע זורם לשוק ההון ממקורות שונים, בצורה בה הוא מתפזר בין המשתתפים השונים של השוק, ובדרך בה הוא משפיע על פעילות המסחר בשוק. העבודות מבוססות ברובן על ניתוח אנליטי, תוך שימוש בתורת המשחקים, לצורך עיצוב ופתרון של מודלים המתארים את התקשורת האסטרטגית בין השחקנים השונים הפועלים בשוק ההון.

 

רובד שני כולל מחקרים המנסים להבין כיצד החלטות תפעוליות (לדוגמה, השקעות במחקר ופיתוח, בחירת טכנולוגיית ייצור או החלטה על רמת המלאי בחברה) משפיעות על דיווחים חשבונאיים פנימיים וחיצוניים. עבודות אלה מתבססות על תיאוריה מיקרו כלכלית ועל ניתוח אקונומטרי. התרומה של מחקרים אלה היא בהבלטת השימושיות של המידע החשבונאי בקבלת החלטות תפעוליות ובהבנת ההשפעה של החלטות תפעוליות על רמת הביצועים המדווחת של החברות.

 

רובד שלישי בוחן את ההשפעה של רגולציה חשבונאית על ההחלטות המנהלים. לדוגמה, מחקרים תיאורטיים בודקים את הקשר בין היקף הרגולציה בשוק ההון לסך המידע הזמין למשקיעים. החוקרים מזהים מצבים בהם חיוב מנדטורי של גילוי מידע על ידי חברות יצמצם למעשה את סך המידע הזמין למשקיעים. מחקר אמפירי מוצא שרגולציה חשבונאית חדשה בנושא הנפקת אופציות לעובדים גרמה לירידה בהנפקת אופציות למנהלים, דבר שהוביל מנהלים להפחית את הסיכון התפעולי של הפירמה. 

 

במסגרת הפעילות המחקרית במחלקה מתקיים כל שבוע סמינר שבו מגיעים להציג חוקרים מובילים מהארץ ומהעולם. פעם בשנה מארחת הקבוצה כנס מחקרי שבו מתארחים חוקרים ידועי שם ומוצגים המחקרים האחרונים בתחום.
