פרופ' אשר טישלר הוא מומחה במנהל עסקים אשר שימש כדקאן הפקולטה לניהול בין השנים 2007-2014.
תחומי המחקר שלו כוללים כלכלת וניהול אנרגיה, כלכלת וניהול ביטחון, מחקר ופיתוח ושיטות מחקר. פרופ' טישלר פרסם יותר ממאה מאמרים בכתבי־עת אקדמיים, כיהן בעבר ומכהן היום כחבר במספר פורומים בתחומי האנרגיה והביטחון, ושימש כיועץ לגופים שונים בישראל ובחו"ל, ביניהם צה"ל ומשרד הביטחון, משרדי האוצר והתשתיות הלאומיות, וכן בנקים וחברות בענפי התעשייה, השירותים וההיי־טק.
