Bar-Gill earned her PhD and MA in economics, and BSc in mathematics from Tel Aviv University. Most recently, she served as a postdoctoral associate at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and the Initiative on the Digital Economy, where she remains a Digital Fellow. Bar-Gill’s research combines economic modelling and data analytics to understand the online economy. She is especially interested in questions related to market structure, firm strategies, and consumer behavior in digital markets. Her awards include a Fulbright grant, the TAU faculty of Social Sciences award for excellence in PhD studies, and the Polack fellowship for excellence in research in Social Science.
