ניהול רושם: מי מבצע ומי מקבל
Impression management is an activity which takes place in many, if not most, interactions between people. As a vital skill in one’s social life, it is probably used in form or another when one is directly involved with others (such as occurs during a meeting within or an organization or simply on a date where only two people are interacting) or even when the target is not in the immediate vicinity (a journalist/news commentator or even when submitting an article to a periodical for review by referees). Although there seems to a concept that conjures up negative associations, nonetheless, it has many benefits including serving as a self-regulatory function (Vohs, Baumeister, & Ciarocco, 2005). It is this tension between presenting oneself falsely and allowing for others to see us in a positive light so as to engender a more positive evaluation from another that makes the concept so intriguing. Several theoretical approaches will be presented and a recent study with CV's and IM will be discussed
