Abstract

In recent years, increasing volumes of agricultural data are being collected continuously and from multiple sources (e.g., sensors, satellite and smart machinery), leading farmers into the ‘big data era’. However, integration of data collected from various sources seems to be lacking, resulting in missed opportunities of extracting value from existing data.

In our research, we propose different methods for integrating and analyzing agricultural data from various sources using cloud-based services. These methods are demonstrated through concrete use-cases. Additionally, general guidelines for developing cloud-based data integration services are provided and the advantages of using cloud computing for such purposes are analyzed.
