The Feiler Family Canada – Israel Real Estate Connection

International Real Estate Project-Course, second semester, 2021

The Course

Alrov Institute for Real Estate Research and the Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University are happy to jointly offer a unique learning experience in one of the “hottest spots” in the world of the real estate. In this project-course students will obtain a unique opportunity to directly learn from Canada’s most prominent real estate leaders in the fields of finance, law, development, business, policy, governance, and others.

Due to Covid-19, the International Real Estate Course this year is provided via Zoom meetings (in regular years, the course also includes a one-week visit to the Toronto real estate market in Canada). The project-course aims to provide a hands-on experience and an up-to-date understanding of the various aspects of real estate theory and practice as applied to the North American and specifically Canadian real estate market. The course provides a real-life learning experience of Canada’s most notable financial, legal, development, business, research, policy and government firms. It is based on academic and professional lectures, and business case presentations by bankers, brokers, real estate developers, pension plan firms, REITs, law firms, and more. This year the course includes additional topics and guest speakers from the U.S and European real estate markets.

As a result of the travel constraints during the Covid-19, the field trip to Toronto that was conducted in previous years is cancelled for the year 2021. In case TAU administrators decide to permit a field trip during either the second semester of 2021, or summer of 2021, only students that attended the course will be eligible to apply for the field trip to Toronto. Detailed requirements including the number of students that could participate in the field trip will be disclosed to the students in the future if and when the trip becomes relevant.

Participation and Eligibility

The course is targeted for outstanding MBA, MSc, Sofaer iMBA and EMBA students at The Coller School of Management with an interest and/or background in real estate who are fluent in English. Active participation in all class meetings (with no exceptions) is required for the completion of the course (in addition to other course requirements as appear in the syllabus).
